POINT PELEE NP-A DARK SKY PRESERVE!!

July 11th, 2009:

Join Dan Taylor from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada-Windsor Centre at the Point Pelee National Park Visitor Centre Theatre on Saturday July 18, 2009 @ 3:00PM. Learn about what a Dark Sky Preserve is and how Point Pelee National Park qualified for this exciting designation. Find out how reduce light pollution in your neighbourhood.  
 
This presentation will run as part of the parks programming that day. There will be no extra charge to visitors attending this event.  Folks that are already in the park during the day may be interested in attending. Once they have paid their park entrance for the day they can come and go with their gate receipt.
 
 
"The goal of the RASC Light Pollution Abatement (LPA) Program is to reduce the levels of light pollution in urban and rural areas by advising Federal, Provincial and Municipal governments and departments along with business and concerned citizens to take action to reduce unnecessary glare, uplight and light trespass."
