FESTIVAL OF BIRDS 2012

Look, Linger and Listen to Point Pelee National Park's Carolinian Forest sing to the melody of the migrating songbirds.

The Friends of Point Pelee and Point Pelee National Park welcome "birders" each spring to experience the avian migration phenomenon from Canada's southernmost mainland.

Learn birding techniques and identification and interesting facts about our park by registering for guided bird hikes at 8:30am, 1:00pm from the Birder's Roost at the Visitors Centre or the evening twilight hikes at the DeLaurier Homestead. HIKE REGISTRATION BEGINS MARCH 1, 2012

A 2011 BIG SUCCESS ... 1:30pm North-End Hikes meeting at the Marsh Boardwalk area. Observe the daytime movement of the migrants as they funnel northward through the park.

Register afer March 1, 2012 online or by phone 888-707-3533 or 519 326-6173. There are 12 people maximum for each hike, so advanced registration is recommended.

Support the Friends when you purchase your morning coffee and bagel at the Birder Breakfast and Lunch located behind the Visitor Centre. Our volunteers will be there to serve you from 7:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Barbequed hamburgers, hotdogs and veggie burgers will be available from 11:30 AM until 2:00 PM.
