Canoe and Bicycle Rentals



Bike RentalsThe Centennial Bike and Hike Trail begins across the road from the Marsh Boardwalk, and has been described as a mini-roller coaster ride that whisks you 4 km south to the Visitor Centre. If you choose to bike on the road, please be careful: it is very narrow with several curves. For your safety, stay on trails to help avoid ticks and poison ivy.

Bicycle rentals are available at the Marsh Boardwalk from May to Thanksgiving.

RATES: Rental Prices ($20 deposit and Photo ID required)

Adult: $10.00/hr minimum + HST = $11.30
$15.00 1/2 day (4hrs) + HST = $16.95

Children: $5.00/hr minimum + HST = $5.65
$8.00 1/2 day (4hrs) + HST = $9.04

Infant seats available on request.




Canoe and Kayak Rentals

Two-thirds of the park is composed of freshwater marshes. Explore beyond the boundaries of the Marsh Boardwalk and into the peaceful mysteries of the marsh by canoe, kayak or joining up on the Freighter Canoe Tour.

Rent canoes through the Friends of Point Pelee at the Marsh Boardwalk.

Please note that there will be no canoe rentals during inclement weather (strong winds, rain storm etc.)


RATES: Rental Prices ($20 deposit and Photo ID required)
1 Hour: $ 12.00/hr minimum + HST = $13.56
2 Hours: $ 20.00 (45 minutes to 2 hours) + HST = $22.60
3 Hours: $ 28.00 (125 minutes to 3 hours) + HST = 31.64
4 Hours: $ 36.00 (195 minutes to 4 hours) + HST = 40.68

$8.00 per hour thereafter or 8 hours $50.00 + HST 13%

3 person maximum/canoe


Prices include:
Lifejackets per person, 2 paddles and marine safety kit

* Unreturned or damaged equipment $50 fee


For your safety please remember:

Wear your lifejacket at all times . Boats are required to have one lifejacket per person, 15 m (40 ft) of buoyant heaving line, spare paddles or oars, an anchor on 15 m (40 ft) of line, a bailer and a whistle.
Weather conditions change rapidly. Although it may be calm here, winds are stronger beyond the windsock. Check daily posted forecasts or the daily Marine Forecast.
The marsh is 800 times bigger than a football field. The windsock marks the return channel. Maps are available at the Cattail Café Rental Shop.
If you capsize: Remain with your overturned boat and move shoreward. Sound three long blasts to attract attention if you need assistance.
